Day 38
Today was Jackie’s first blood work since chemo last week. She has been doing very well and also ready to work today. She has been having a lot of rashes most likely due to the side effects of treatment. The doctor seemed very confused when looking at these rashes. It’s very difficult since side effects are so individualized. Usually we are use to taking a certain meds and reviewing the side effects of the bottle. We always notice that side effects may include drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea, and so forth. Chemotherapy has to side note on the drugs. It is so up in the air. Jackie, thank God, has not suffered much except one bout of nausea and these rashes. I hope these rashes go away.
My life recently has not been my life. I wake up early to work and come home at lunch hopefully to see my wife. After work I rush back home to greet her. I try to cook dinner if not made, wash up, and start over the next day. It sounds very boring and awful, but yet I find so much enjoyment. When I rush home and see Jackie smiling and greeting me with a hug, I know its all worth it. Her attitude keeps my drive going. We are constantly reminded that this is only a small bump in our lives; and 4 months later the past will engulf this ordeal. Being a husband is so great when I know I am able to take care of my wife and provide for her.
