Day 36-37
Things stirred up for a few hours this weekend. Jackie has really been responding well to her first treatment. On Monday morning I found her out in the family room watching tv and looking a little under the weather. She told me she felt a little nausea and just wanted to rest. A few minutes later she ran to the restroom and vomited. I knew the chemo drugs have probably kicked in. She immediately took a anti-nausea pill, Zofran, which basically did the trick. That was the 2 hours of excitement so far from the chemo drugs.
I am very thankful that we did not go to Vegas. The four hour drive through hills would have probably exacerbated the nausea. The rest of the weekend, there were no more symptoms. I think she has flushed most of the toxins from the first treatment out of her body. She is drinking tons of fluid and eating very well. I am extremely pleased with her progress so far.
Each time Jackie seems a little off, I immediately am put on high alert. I feel like the panic alarm turns on and my mind starts racing to remedies. I keep myself calm actually by having her tell me how she feels.
It really takes lots of will and strength to fight this lymphoma. You have to be mentally and physically strong. The side effects of all the chemo drugs entering you body is so unpredictable. Every day is a new day, everyday is a surprise. I just prepare myself by praying each night for her. I know that if anyone can fight through this, it would be my wife. She is tough and confident with a little bit of stubbornness to not allow Hodgkin’s to take her down.
